I have never felt like I fit in anywhere. I am BIG energy. I’ve been told I'm a lot. I’ve been told that I come into the room like a tornado. It used to bother me, but not anymore.
I'm damn proud to stand out because I know authenticity is valuable.
When I’m being myself, completely in my true energy... It’s magic. I feel it and others do too. When you figure out how to tap into your authentic self and be in that energy more often, that’s where you are at your best. That’s when you are at the top of your game, feeling in the zone.
That’s authenticity.
Not only are we better when we can lead authentically, but it’s also easier! Because we’re not wasting time worrying about saying or doing the wrong thing. We’re just being ourselves and trusting ourselves.
For a long time I tried to fit in because I thought that’s what I needed to do in order to succeed. Until I didn’t recognize myself anymore. I saw the woman in the mirror, but I didn’t feel like her. I wasn’t being true to myself. There was a disconnect between who I was and the person I let people see.
I was spending way too much energy trying to meet other people’s expectations of me rather than asking myself who I wanted to be.
I had nothing left for the creative side of me. And that’s where my magic lies! When I shed my fear of being my true self, everything changed for me. I only wish I would have done it sooner.
Too many ambitious leaders shrink themselves when they really need to be shining brighter. We need your authenticity. We need your ambition.
We need more leaders who think for themselves.
Leaders who think big.
Leaders who are not afraid to break the mold.
Leaders who are bold and courageous in the face of complex challenges.
But that’s never going to happen if you keep hiding.
Let this be your reminder to embrace your authenticity and stand in your power.
